Having designed a first gimbal mount plate solely for the Tarot T-2D Version 1 gimbal, I had a lot of requests to design another for the newer plastic V2 Tarot T-2D gibmal. This is a slightly modified design with countersunk holes to hide the mounting screws inside the mount plate. This means that you can mount your gimbal tight against the fuselage of the Phantom 2, saving a little weight and raising up the height of the camera, meaning that you don’t really need to extend the feet more than a couple of millimetres. Also there is no need for spacers, so you save a few extra grams as well.
If you want to save a lot of money and don’t want to buy the DJI Zenmuse H3-2D gimbal for £250+, this is a great way to install a cheaper and just as good Tarot T-2D solution.
This new design works on both Tarot T-2D version 1 AND version 2 gimbals.

How to install the Carbon Fiber Mount Plate for a Tarot T-2D brushless Gimbal on a DJI Phantom 2
Step-by-step video on how to install the Carbon Fiber Mount Plate for a Tarot T-2D brushless Gimbal on a DJI Phantom 2
Here is a quick video I put together tol show you how to setup and install the long awaited Carbon Fiber Mounting Plate (MP-T2D) for the NEW DJI Phantom 2 quadcopter so that you can attach your Tarot T-2D Brushless Gimbal with Gyro TL68A00 2 axis Camera Mount FPV PTZ for GoPro 3 without having to drill any holes in your Phantom.
Step-by-Step instructions on how to install a Carbon Fiber Adapter Mounting Plate for a Tarot T-2D gimbal on DJI Phantom 2
It is a very simple process to get the adapter mounting plate installed on you Phantom 2.
1. Attach extender arms
If using a v1 gimbal, simply screw the four Tarot plastic extender mount arms into the four screw holes MP-T2D Mount Plate as shown. If you are using a v2 gimbal, use the supplied bolts (x2) to attach the gimbal to the two mounting holes as in the image below.
2. Screw gibmal plate to your Phantom 2
Now you are ready to screw in your Tarot T-2D brushless Gimbal into the mounting plate. Use the four silver hex screws that you purchased with your mount plate.
Make sure that the screws are nice and tight. The nuts that you put on initially finger tight, should now have bitten into the carbon fiber mounting plate slightly to give you a firm attachment.
You can screw your screws down (instead of up here) into the DJI Phantom 2 chassis if your M3 screws are longer than 7mm. You’ll have trouble if you screws are a little too long as the battery will hit them when you try to insert it. To solve this just take off the top casing of the Phantom 2 and screw down from the inside i.e. the screw heads will be inside the chassis rather than outside as pictured here.
3. Go have fun flying your Phantom 2
Now that you’re all setup go and fly your Phantom 2 and get some great smooth shots using your newly attached Tarot T-2D gimbal. Thanks for reading/watching. If you have any questions, please ask them at the bottom or on the YouTube video comments pages or at the bottom of this page, thanks.

(6. Extending your DJI Phantom 2 landing gear to fit your Tarot T-2D brushless Gimbal)
You might also need to extend your DJI Phantom 2 landing gear, because the gimbal is a little too big for the Phantom 2 stock landing gear. Fear not though, I made a quick video on how to extend your Phantom 2 landing gear for next to no cost at all. Check out that video here:
